CARDINIA'S green thumbs are in for a bloomin' good time at this year's Pakenham Garden Expo.
Quality, affordable plants direct from growers will be available at the annual expo, to be held at Pakenham racecourse on August 2, from 10am-3pm.
The annual expo is organised by Pakenham Garden Club.
Club president Meryl Waterhouse said the weather wouldn't matter because the expo is held undercover.
"More than 500 people came to last year's event and this year's expo promises to be even bigger and better," Ms Waterhouse said.
"Early August is still a good time for deciduous plants to go into the garden and with spring just around the corner, all plants will get a head start before the hot weather arrives."
The expo features a wide range of plants including roses, trees, shrubs, perennials, succulents, herbs, clematis, natives, hellebores and collectables.
Garden equipment and ornaments are also available.
For green thumbs and those looking for extra advice, author Kevin Walsh will give a talk and answer gardening questions at 10.30am and 1pm.
Entry to the expo is only $5 and refreshments are available.
For details phone Meryl on 5941 1306, or Margaret on 5941 1871.
